The truth is we expect things now, this is true in life and no different when it comes to our fitness or nutrition goals. We just want the results! NOW!
Instead of focusing on how long it’s going to take, or how quickly you can possibly get results, focus on the things you get to experience, the positives, benefits and what you are learning from the journey you are on. Don’t limit yourself by missing out on all the benefits from the whole experience.
If you want your results to be sustainable, you will HAVE to enjoy the process – particularly if you want it to be a lifestyle change. How are you possibly going to sustain your results after achieving them, if you don’t enjoy the process??
Instead of being driven by results and focusing on how quickly we can get them, what if we extended that finish line and changed our perspective to, this is likely to take a while and so I’m going to settle in and do whatever I can to get the most out of this experience. I’m not going to rush, I’m going to focus on the day to day effort, and the tasks I need to do consistently. If you do all these things, you’re going to get the results anyway. With this changed perspective you are going to take away something amazing from the experience, way beyond the process of chasing results.
Everything takes time, making improvements, gaining fitness, losing weight or gaining muscle – IT ALL. TAKES. TIME!
HOW can you enjoy the process of consistency, being in the moment and embracing your journey? Enjoy the progress you’re making and the benefits along the way. Enjoy LIVING as the person who has the results you want, and they will happen!
